Itinerary
Your itinerary
Our driver will pick you up at your hotel around 9:00 AM, or later if you prefer.
After an hour's drive, you'll arrive in the village where Monet lived and painted for 40 years. His garden was the wellspring of his inspiration—its colors and light shaped his vision. Walk through these same gardens and feel the creative energy that fueled his masterpieces.
You'll visit the house where the artist lived with his family, see his workshop, and admire his exceptional collection of Japanese prints.
Monet's passion for Japanese art began during a trip to Zaandam, Holland, in 1871. He regularly attended Japanese art exhibitions and collected 231 prints, including works by masters Hokusai, Hiroshige, and Utamaro. In his living room, about sixty canvases have been reproduced and placed exactly as they were during his lifetime. To see the original paintings, consider adding a visit to the Marmottan Museum in Paris.
We'll suggest lunch options based on your timing: Le Moulin de Fourges, La Corniche with its sweeping Seine views, a farm picnic featuring local cider and cheese, or other spots your driver-guide recommends in the moment.
We'll reserve a timed entrance for a guided visit of Versailles —the only fixed appointment of your day. Your driver-guide will handle the rest, offering suggestions to help you make the most of each visit.
Start at the Royal Palatine Chapel to learn about the Royal Family's relationship with the Catholic Church and the concept of Royal Absolute Power—the belief that God chose the King to dispense divine justice.
Your guide will bring history to life as you explore the King's State Apartments.
Walk through the lavish salons where kings entertained the court with parties, gaming, theatre, opera, concerts, and private performances. Courtiers dazzled at balls and masquerades with their dancing skills.
Learn about The Etiquette—the rules governing every aspect of Royal Family and court life from sunrise to sunset.
Pass through Louis XV's Council Chamber, Louis XIV's Bedchamber, and the Bull's Eye Antechamber before arriving at the Queen's Apartments.
